Unpossible grabbed that nifty achievement last night with our kill of Lady Deathwhisper hardmode in ICC25. The kill brings us to 9/12 hardmodes down.

I’m not about to say the kill was some flawless piece of perfect execution. It was messy. Messier than Zabos’ grandmother after a night out (absolutely filthy). But she’s dead. Deathwhisper, not Zabos’ grandmother. That one just will. not. die.

At any rate, good to have a challenge again in the instance. Short-lived, I imagine. I’m sure we’ll just steamroll Putricide, Sindragosa, and LK hm (lolololol).

Unpossible’s latest round of general recruiting is now finished. We picked up more than a few quality folks this time, bringing our raider ranks back up to a very comfortable number.

For those still in the pipeline, you have a few more days to secure a sponsor. If you have already secured a sponsor, have no fear, your application will proceed as normal.

Exceptional applicants will not be turned away, however be warned that what constitutes ‘exceptional’ to the members of Unpossible goes beyond your gearscore, average ilvl, or achievements. This guild is a group of more or less like-minded gamers that enjoy each others company while raiding. i.e. Mouth-breathing, loot-crazed, asshats need not apply.

Good times. Pretty much the only thing that could make this week any better would be if Zabos’ account was hacked, his house robbed, and his car vandalized.

UNPOSSIBLE@BLIZZCON2010

For the past few years, Unpossible has managed to support a respectable showing at the annual Blizzcon event in Anaheim, CA; a convention celebrating Blizzard’s intellectual property (namely the Warcraft, Diablo, and Starcraft universes). The event has historically been held at the Anaheim Convention Center, and this year is no exception.

This particular convention will mark the third year members of the guild have gathered to attend, and is looking to be our largest showing yet. 16-20 members of Unpossible will be present in Anaheim, and as such, need to figure out what to do outside of convention hours.

RECRUITING UPDATE

Just a brief note on a minor change in Unpossible’s recruiting system. The length of time a Bent-Wookie (probationary rank) stays in the rank prior to being voted to Veteran or Raider has been reduced from six weeks to four weeks.

After we roflstomped Heroic Princes into the ground in ICC25, I set about the task of updating the homepage with something related.

I spent a solid hour wading through images of Prince (the artist), fucking around with GIMP until I just gave up, threw my proverbial hands in the air and asked the officers for advice.

Zabos had absolutely nothing worthwhile to contribute.

Diane suggested I do something with the Little Rascals.

Google…. led me to this image.

Blizzard recently released a raid instance acting as a prelude to their upcoming Cataclysm expac. The Ruby Sanctum added three mini-bosses, as well as a new Lich-King level raid encounter (ilvl 271 drops for RS25) to tide the masses over until Cataclysm’s release date.

Unpossible stepped inside with high hopes, wiped a few times to trash packs of all things.. and thought to itself  ‘CCing adds? mini-bosses that hit hard? Sounds like Halion will be a challenge!’

……not so much! 18% on the first attempt. A few attempts later and the loot was being handed out. For a guild with a historical tendency to die over, and over, and over, and over again on idiot check fights, we did strangely well with this one.

OH MAN. ZABOS’ GRANDMOTHER. THAT NEVER GETS OLD

Anyways, yeah. We added yet another hardmode kill to our resume tonight; taking down Valithria Dreamwalker hardmode in ICC25.

That brings us up to 6/12 hardmodes. A little behind the curve, but hey, as always we get this shit done without having to spend every waking hour in front of the computer. Great week all. More hardmodes next week!

Most think of Shadowmourne as the be-all, end-all reward of the Icecrown Citadel quest chain. But not so! There’s a little-known bonus once the wielder of the legendary kills the Lich-King.

The Lich-King will drop an item called the Sealed Chest one time, and one time only, per legendary. The item begins a quest to return the items inside the chest to their rightful owners. The quest items are all bind-on-pickup, however the rewards are bind-on-equip.

The rewards are five unique vanity items, as rare as the axe itself. Pretty nifty stuff.

Unpossible recently finished Shadowmourne, and last night, took down the Lich King, earning a Sealed Chest as a result. The items were rewarded to raiders present at the kill. The lucky recipients were:

Muradin’s Favor – Radric
Sylvanas’ Music Box – Archaan

Unpossible has completed its first Shadowmourne!

After countless hours toiling away in the depths of Icecrown Citadel, the weapon is complete. Bask in the awesome….

…..for a few more months at least, until it gets tossed in the bank along with Sulfuras and Thunderfury because it was outclassed by a fucking green OF THE WHALE.
